Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Interactive Entertainment

After examining my feasibility analysis I have noticed that my week areas are gathered around the financial area of project development this is where I would have to gather skilled people me for guidance and assistance.

My other week area around development will have to be handled the same way, employing or connecting to the experts in that area. To help with the production and development of my idea.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Interactive Entertainment

Today I completed the paper format of my feasibility analysis (online computer version never did work). My answers produced some very interesting pictures, one looked like a bunnies head. At the end of all the mathematics I received a Commercial Feasibility Rating of 76.5.

What does this mean?

According to Australian Government IDEAS – Traffic light report (2011), an innovation Feasibility Rating of 76.5 means.

“Innovation Feasibility Rating = 60 to 79 (yellow light)

If your idea scored an innovation feasibility rating between 60 and 79, then its potential for acceptance in its current form is uncertain. It may nevertheless

warrant some degree of cautious consideration. Innovation feasibility ratings in this range mean you should not invest heavily in a business case at this stage. Rather, development should be limited to those activities that are not costly and you should focus on resolving some of the concerns that brought the rating down.

An innovation feasibility rating in the upper half of this range (70-79) generally represents enough potential to warrant further limited and cautious development.”

Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Interactive Entertainment

It's been two hours and all I have done for the day is update my blog!!

Having a blog can be useful, people can use your blog to source information, ideas and see how others do things. The problem is when you decide you need to improve your blog by making it more interesting. Since i started my blog in 09, many new features have been added; it was time for a revamp.

So I changed the background to a stunning watercolour style background, but this was not enough, next I found myself using the advanced settings to change text, layout and even adding a QR code. Another interesting thing I discovered in my journey through the blog system is that I can tell how many times my blog has been viewed and in what countries the viewers are from. I was pleasantly surprised by the numbers and countries (I know that really means nothing as I have never had a comment and the viewing may have been by accident, but you never know) the people were viewing from.

Now that I am happy with my blog design and layout, I find the best part of the day has disappeared, I can only hope the people that come across my blog also find it pleasant to look at and hopefully to read.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Interactive Entertainment

Week 2 day 4

Today I practiced my elevator pitch, I was surprised how nervous I was when trying to perform in front of a camera, even though I was well prepared. I had well written out notes I tried to memorise the points of and when it came to doing the pitch I took myself into a room devoid of computers and my notes and went for it. Lucky for me I was able to have more than one go, however I would have liked doing my pitch with the others as being in the environment would have added to my pitch putting me in the right mindset. Here is a screen shot of the practice notes for my pitch.

Week 2 day 3

After a long day at work I once again tried to get the site to function properly, this time with help in the form of a friend (co-student): Still to no avail. Deciding to once again giving up for the night I emailed my lecturer and sat down, with my friend from uni and my husband, the three of us watched The Social Network (Facebook movie). Watching this film really highlighted the importance of being prepared and reading all the fine print. Especially in area of IP and never underestimate human nature, because if you do even your friends will can screw you over. One thing that i did notice was the way in which Mark Zuckerberg was portrayed as a person with an ASD, I wonder if this was intentional, and if Mark Zuckerberg really behaves in this manner or was it artistic licence.

Week 2 day 2

A frustrating day for me today I tried working on a site designed to graph out the potential and ricks associated with starting my business. The site failed to work. So I packed up and went to bed. Vowing to try again after work tomorrow.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Interactive Entertainment

Well it is the start of the week again today and I am well rested from my weekend of power writing for my product prospectus on P.O.W. I learnt a lot while researching my idea; while the technology is not new it is the implementation of the technology that will be different in my product.

One of the elements about this unit I was happy to discover is that I still own all my intellectual property; this was a concern for me as I have produced some cool things over the years.

I also will need to work out my exit plan (Just in case: I am an optimist, and you never know), as I have no intention of ever running a business, just want to get the ideas out there and in the hands of children: Who it is designed for.

I should also start investigating trademarks, coming up with my own logo. My business name also have to be checked. So much to do but it makes life interesting.

Day 3 and 4
Generate my iSeeds & picking a winner

Generating my iSeeds for this project was easy i already had the idea. About a week before this unit started, I was trying to work out a solution to a current problem in our household.
My son Lawson, who has a lot of trouble getting ready in the morning he needs to do things by a certain time in order to get to school. But like a lot of children with an ASD he has trouble telling the time and often forgets, what that time represents: He was my inspiration for this product.
My aim is to help children with learning disabilities cope with time management.
